Story time and craft ready for children

With the end of the rainy days came the summer heat. I hope you are ready with lots of sunscreen! On days when the pool or other outside activities are not an option, remember we are here ready to help you get some great books to enjoy.

Our Wednesday Story Hour this past week was cancelled but beginning today at 10:30 a.m., we will have Ms. Jacki back to read an exciting story and ready with an out of this world craft! We are going to have many fun activities this summer which includes the Summer Reading Program that started last week. We have had quite a few patrons who have signed up already. The challenge will go to June 25, so there is still plenty of time to come in and get your children or grandchildren signed up! The Summer Reading Program is for children who have completed kindergarten through the fifth grade.

We still have a lot of donated books and magazines coming in, and are exceedingly grateful for all those who have brought their contributions. That said, we have many books on our free table as well as our for sale tables, so come on by and find a book at a great price.

We have in our displays this month the Extension Homemakers Club, the Pea Ridge Alumni, the last of the Mule Jump shirts and hats and a section on books set in the Ozarks region. We still have a few opening for display shelves this year, so if you are part of an organization or group and want to get your name out, call us or better yet come on by and see the shelves for yourself so that you have a better idea of what we have to offer.

We have new books on order and expect them to arrive shortly. Mrs. Peggy Maddox, librarian, is recuperating from her surgery and we are looking forward to her returning to the library in the near future

Come see us at the library soon!
