Summer Kids Camp

Openings are still available in "Time Travelers, 1960-2009," the Shiloh Museum's summer camp for kids ages 11 to 14, July 13--17, 10 a.m.--3 p.m. Cost for the camp is $45 for Shiloh Museum members and $55 for non-members, and includes lunch, crafts, and a ticket to the July 21 NWA Naturals baseball game. Preregistration and payment is required. The registration deadline has been extended to June 15.

Kids Fishing Derby

The Shiloh Museum of Ozark History will host a free fishing derby for kids from 1-4 p.m. Tuesday, June 16, from at Murphy Park Pond in Springdale. Kids of all ages are invited to bring a fishing pole and bait and try their luck at catching some of the 200 channel catfish that will be stocked in Murphy Park Pond by the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission. Registration begins at 12:30 p.m. at the park pavilion. Participants 16 and over must have a valid Arkansas fishing license. All who register will be eligible for prizes.

Back-to-the-Land History

Local historian and author Denele Campbell will present "The Back-to-the-Land Movement: Ozark History and Memories," at noon Wednesday, June 17, at the Shiloh Museum of Ozark History. Campbell is the author of "Aquarian Revolution: Back to the Land," a collection of 32 interviews with people who moved to the Ozarks in the 1960s in search of a life away from the modern trappings of society.

LifeWriters

The Northwest Arkansas Sacred Harp Singers will meet at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, June 14, at the Shiloh Museum of Ozark History.

The Boston Mountain Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 18, at the Shiloh Museum of Ozark History.

Civil War Roundtable
