Summer camps set

SPRINGDALE -- Registration is underway for the Shiloh Museum's summer history camps for children. Two sessions are offered:

"Cooking and Clothing, Ozark Style!" is 9-11:30 a.m. Monday, June 8, through Friday, June 12, for ages 7 to 10 years. Cost for the camp is $30 for Shiloh Museum members and $40 for non-members, and includes snacks and crafts.

"Time Travelers, 1960-2009" is 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. Monday, July 13, through Friday, July 17, for ages 11 to 14 years. Cost for the camp is $45 for Shiloh Museum members and $55 for non-members, and includes lunch, crafts, and a ticket to the July 21 NWA Naturals baseball game.

Space is limited for both camps; preregistration and payment is required. The registration deadline is May 31.

Movies in the Park slated

Movies in the Park are planned by the Pea Ridge Parks and Recreation Commission beginning June 5 and continuing every other week through the summer.

• June 5 -- "Frozen" Sing Along

• June 19 -- "Wizard of OZ," sponsored by Beta Alpha of ESA

• July 3 -- "National Treasure"

• July 17 -- "Tangled"

• July 31 -- "Chronicles of Narnia," sponsored by Mt. Vernon Presbyterian and The Episcopal Church Pea Ridge

Show times will be 8:30 p.m. at the Main City Park. Each sponsor may be selling concessions. Attendees are asked to bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy the show.

Parks Commission members expressed gratitude to Beta Alpha for the use of the sound equipment.

There are three films still needing sponsors; to sponosr, contact James Crews at 479-372-3765. Sponsorship is about $300.
