For the fifth annual Little 'Hawks camp, some sophomore football players enjoyed helping young athletes. They attended the first camp five years ago as sixth-graders, according to head football coach Tony Travis.

"These guys were in the sixth grade when it started," Travis said. "This was our fifth year."

"It went good," he said. There were 65 second- through sixth-grade Blackhawks. There were from 25 to 29 varsity Blackhawks to help coach and guide the young athletes, Travis said.

"That was impressive to me. This was a volunteer thing. That's not anything we assign. They really enjoyed and they all had some fun," he said.

The young athletes enjoyed weight lifting and speed training as well as learning more about offense and defense. On the last day, they played ultimate football, Travis said.
