Three trucks collide

GARFIELD -- No one was injured in a three-vehicle accident on U.S. Highway 62 at the intersection with Arkansas Highway 72 Sunday evening, according to Arkansas State Police.

A 17-year-old male from Pea Ridge was driving a 2001 Ford Super Crew eastbound when he stopped to turn left off U.S. 62 onto Ark. 72 and was struck from behind by a 2008 Dodge Ram pickup truck driven by a 30-year-old male from Nowata, Okla. According to police, the Dodge driver steered to the right to avoid a collision and "clipped the rear passenger side" of the Ford. The 25-year-old female driver of a 2001 Ford F150 behind the Dodge also steered to the right, but hit the Dodge from behind.

Drivers of the second and third vehicles were both cited for careless and prohibited driving, according to police.

There were two juvenile passengers in the third vehicle. There were three passengers in the first vehicle. No one was injured.
