The Ridge Church: Focused on family growth

The Ridge Church is focused on family growth!

I remember when I first started pastoring at TRCC. I had this overwhelming desire to see families grow closer to God and to each other. We started remodeling our building to accommodate Bible classes for each age group of children, as well as a re-designed and creative kid's church facility. After the remodel we started our new Bible classes on Sundays for each age group and also started two new ministries on Wednesday nights for the kids, Mpact for girls and Royal Rangers.

With a lot of effort going into the kids' ministry at TRCC, one area that we knew we needed to start focusing on was the youth ministry. There are so many more influences today than compared to the '80s or '90s and our teenagers need good influences in their lives to point them in the right direction when making life decisions. I've been approached, on numerous occasions, by parents who are concerned for their teenagers, just as I am for my two teenager daughters. It's something that TRCC has to make extremely important. Not just to the future of the church, but to society. To teach our young people how to make the right decisions in a tough world that we live in. To teach them how to live their lives pleasing to a loving God who cares for them even when they are hurting or all alone. They need to know and understand what it means to live a life of character and integrity.

We have recently hired a young couple as youth pastors at TRCC.

Josh and Vanessa Cutberth were born and raised in southwest Missouri. After graduating high school, Josh and Vanessa lived in Joplin while attending Missouri Southern. While going to college, they both felt a call on their lives to be youth pastors. In July 2015, God opened a door of opportunity for this great couple to minister at TRCC. They are passionate about leading young people to fall in love with Jesus and represent Him everywhere they go.

If you're a parent or a guardian of a teenager who needs to have Godly influences in their lives, then I encourage you to bring them to The Ridge Youth every Sunday night to receive good Godly teaching that will point them in the right direction and to build healthy relationships with other teenagers who are pursuing lives that honor God.

The Ridge Youth have their service at 6 p.m. Sundays in the main building at 836 N. Curtis Ave. They also have many events and trips throughout the year that will keep your teenager seeking after what's important and to keep them focused.

TRCC is honored to have this tremendous couple on staff and looks forward to what the future holds for the teenagers in the Pea Ridge area.
