Reading winners invited to party

All of us here at the library hope that you had a safe holiday and spent it with the ones you love. Most importantly we hope that you thanked at least one of the countless men and women that have served this country in times of war and in times of peace. Without their sacrifices we would not be able to even have this library that is run by freedoms that we take for granted day after day. Thank you so very much, if you are reading this and have served our country, in any way, shape, form or fashion!

Do not forget that only the contestants of our Summer Reading Program who turned in their Reading Logs will be able to attend our party at 11 a.m. this Saturday, July 11. Again, congratulations to all of the readers this year, and hope that you continue to read all through the year. It is wonderful to see so many young readers coming in day after day to get a "real" book and not just downloading an e-book.

Here is a reminder on the fines; all books are 20 cents a day per item. DVDs are $1 a day per item. These fines quickly add up, so if for some reason you cannot make it in you can always call us at 479-451-8442. We prefer if you would call at least one hour before we close so that we can make sure to get your items renewed before we close.

We would appreciate it if you would bring your items up to be checked out 10 minutes before we close, especially DVDs as they take a little longer. For new patrons we have six computers for use. If you need any assistance with computers please feel free to ask library personnel.

That is all for this week. There have been a few books come in so watch next week's column for the titles. Until then keep reading and bring someone in with you on your next trip.
