Five young ladies -- all seniors at Pea Ridge High School -- will take the stage Friday night to compete for the honor of being selected to represent Pea Ridge as the 66th Miss Pea Ridge. The young ladies will also ride in the Pea Ridge Fair Parade Saturday evening.

Nicole Henson, 17, daughter of Darin and Dawnitta Henson, is an officer in the National Honor Society, a varsity cheerleader, attends Fellowship Bible Church of Rogers and is a class ambassador. Miss Henson enjoys camping and fishing, spending time with friends and family, volunteering at school activities and cheering on the Blackhawks. She plans to attend the University of Arkansas and major in early childhood education.

Kelsie Merritt, 16, daughter of George and Lorrie Merritt, is involved in National Honor Society and is a cheerleader. Miss Merritt enjoys cheering, hanging out with friends, going to church and spending time with her family. She plans to further her career in the healthcare industry and achieve her dream of becoming an oral surgeon.

Mariana Soto, 16, daughter of Martin and Andrea Soto, is involved in National Honor Society, Spanish club and Dreamers. Miss Soto's hobbies include volunteering weekly at Mercy Hospital and she tutors a middle school student. She plans to attend the Pea Ridge Manufacturing and Business Academy for her CNA after graduating a year early.

Allie Van Houden, 17, daughter of John and Tina Van Houden, is the National Honor Society president, Student Council treasurer, plays varsity softball, is a member of First Tee of NWA and the Neighborhood Church, plays varsity golf and is in the Community Service Club. Miss Van Houden's hobbies include softball, golf, hiking and community service. She plans to attend college and becoming a dermatologist.

Rebecca Woods, 17, daughter of Jerry and Donna Woods, is current reigning Jr. Miss Pea Ridge. Miss Woods is a PRHS cheerleader, plays varsity softball, is a member of Girl Scout troop 5448, a charter member of Gamma Sigma Gamma, is the National Honor Society vice president, was class vice president, is a member of the Pea Ridge Book Club, Student Council reporter and Spanish Club treasurer and is a member of Union Chapel. Her hobbies include playing sports, hanging out with her family and friends, being involved in the outdoors and bringing joy to people's lives. She plans to trying out for the Arkansas Razorback cheerleading squad and going to college to get her master's degree in childhood education.
