New entrance to Military Park

A new entrance road to the Pea Ridge National Military Park will open starting the week of Jan. 26, according to officials at the park.

The new entrance is located west of the new U.S. Highway 62 and is approximately 1.3 miles south of the current temporary access road and 1.3 miles north of the intersection of U.S. Highway 62/Arkansas Highway 72.

Once the new entrance opens, it will remain as the park permanent entrance and will be the only entrance to access the park. There will be signs placed along U.S. 62 to inform visitors where to turn to enter the park. For information, call 479-451-8122 x 227.
