Pea Ridge Graphic-Scene

Two Pea Ridge High School band members placed in second band at the Regional Band try-outs Saturday at Springdale High School. They are David Miser, who placed seventh out of the 16 trying out in the tuba division, and Larry Mayer, who was seventh out of the 24 competing in the snare drum division.

An attempted break-in at Lasaters Phillips 66 Station was reported to Pea Ridge Police Saturday morning. The would-be burglars apparently failed in their attempt to gain entry after having broken out one panel of glass in the front door and run into a bank-type lock which they could not open. This was the third such incident at Lasaters in about three months, with entry gained before and some merchandise taken.

A Pea Ridge property owner, Bill Denman, brought drainage and water access problems on Greer Street to the Pea Ridge City Council's attention on Tuesday night, Jan. 17. Denman, whose property borders Greer Street, said that the city annexed his property 18 years ago but there are no water lines to this property. He said that flooding from a creek and the lack of water lines make this property virtually useless to him. Mayor Jackie Crabtree asked Water Department superintendent Floyd Blackwell to look into the possibility of running a water line to the property.
