Morgan joins Bella Vista Fire Department

From Staff Reports

A Pea Ridge man is one of three new firefighters who have joined the Bella Vista Fire Department, according to Fire Chief Steve Sims. They joined the department earlier this fall.

They're working primarily out of station No. 1 in Town Center, but could be part of the contingent that eventually moves to the fourth station along Forest Hills Boulevard near Buckstone Drive, which is expected to be operational by 2016, Sims said. The station will be referenced to as the "Highlands Station," he added.

• Aaron Morgan, 25, got into firefighting because of his brother-in-law. Morgan would hang around at the fire station in Bentonville and his passion grew from there.

"I was studying fire science at NorthWest Arkansas Community College and wanted to get more involved," Morgan said. "I've been on some calls and done some long shifts, but I'm excited about things."

He is from Pea Ridge.

The other two firefighters are Justin Tesreau, 19, son of a fire chief; and Jack Sanders, 35, a 15-year fire veteran.
