Letters found; no crime committed

Letters recruiting members into the "Traditionalist American Knights Ku Klux Klan" were found on the lawns of residences in Standing Oaks and on Lee Town Drive Sunday.

The top of the letter has a photograph of Martin Luther King Jr. with a red circle and a slash mark through it, the emblem of the KKK and a photograph of Robert E. Lee.

It states:

"The third Monday in January is a holiday known in this country as 'Martin Luther King Jr. Day' ..."

The letter goes on to criticize King and praise Lee, then concludes with: "The Traditionalist American Knights of the Ku Klux Klan are seeking Patriotic Christian white men and women wo want to make a positive difference in our country today!" The letter lists a phone number and a web site.

According to Pea Ridge Police, several people reported receiving the notices, but there was not police report written about the incident and no crime was committed.
