The scoreline for Zach Davis was blank for three quarters Friday night.

The Pea Ridge senior guard filled up the entire fourth quarter, scoring all 12 of his points to lead the Blackhawks to a 58-46 win over Huntsville in a key 4A-1 Conference game.

Davis helped the Blackhawks (12-7, 5-1) turn a tie game after three quarters into a double-figure win. His 3-pointer from the right perimeter with 6 minutes, 25 seconds left in the fourth quarter gave the Blackhawks a 41-38 lead, and he hit another 3-pointer two minutes later for a 44-40 lead. Pea Ridge was never seriously threatened the rest of the way.

"We had a lot of guys make shots in that fourth quarter," Pea Ridge coach Trent Loyd said. "Zach hit a couple. We had great screens to get him open, and he knocked them down."

The win moved Pea Ridge into a share of the 4A-1 lead nearing the halfway point of the conference race with the Eagles (18-2, 5-1).

Pea Ridge got solid production off its bench with 17 points, including 11 from sophomore Joey Hall. Huntsville did not get any points from its reserves.

"They battled their tails off," Loyd said of his bench players. "I told them 'Tonight you are going to have to compete harder than you've ever competed,' and they did that tonight."

Huntsville struggled to score inside as 6'4" senior post Jose Aguilar scored just four points. But the Eagles had chances several times to take the lead in the second half.

"We had chances, but we'd turn it over or not get a good look at the basket," Huntsville coach Jim Stafford said. "But give Pea Ridge credit. They have some good players. They just beat us."

Blake Sheppard also scored 12 for Pea Ridge.
