New things to see at Pea Ridge High School open house

We are so excited for the upcoming school year! As we seek to continue our positive and engaging school culture, we are very excited about:

• The new flex mod schedule,

• Students' 1:1 laptop program

• Building upgrades

As we move to the Flex Mod xchedule, we are excited about a number of aspects that allow students to learn within an exciting and engaging school environment. First, our students are able to customize their learning by encouraging students to receive tutoring during the school day using "Independent Learning Time" (ILT). In addition, all students still have the opportunity to take athletics, band and other electives regardless of the core classes they are enrolled in. Finally, students learn personal responsibility, time management and technology proficiency through daily Accelerated Growth Sessions.

To be college and career ready, graduates must be proficient in technology and understand how to use these tools responsibly. Therefore, all students will receive a Chromebook during the school year for use at school and home. Students will use these computers for class projects, as well as learn the importance of using these tools responsibly and collaboratively. Insurance premiums are a one-time fee of $25 and this fee will take the place of other school supplies.

We are also excited to unveil building upgrades for our students. The cafeteria will be transformed into a more modern environment with new furniture, TVs and paintings. In addition, we will be adding social "nests" throughout the school. These are areas for students to collaborate and work on projects outside of the four classroom walls. In addition, a new Fine Arts wing is being completed to provide specific learning environments for our diverse course offerings. These new upgrades will provide a positive and engaging environment for our students to learn and grow.
