Granny's Quilts of Love

Granny's Quilts of Love met at 9:30 a.m. March 17 at Mt. Vernon Presbyterian Church in Pea Ridge. Twenty-five members were present. There were 200 quilt kits cut followed by a short meeting.

The total number of quilts made and donated to the Arkansas Children's Hospital is 19,852 -- pillows 5,120 and caps 2,813.

The next meeting will be at 9:30 a.m., April 21, 2015, in Mt. Vernon Presbyterian Church , 1300 N. Davis St., Pea Ridge. We will be cutting quilt kits.

New Meadowbrook

New Meadowbrook members met at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 8, at the First Baptist Church in Garfield for their monthly meeting. President Karen Launderville presided over the meeting which opened with members all reciting the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. Devotions were given by Roxie Geddie of the 40 days of Jesus' Life after his crucifixion. Roll call was answered with their favorite flower.

Discussion was of "Gardening on the Rocks" and of the next project that the club is planning for this next year. Roxie will check on details and then preparations will be made for the project. Announcements of the upcoming County Spring Council meeting to be held at the Church of Christ in Cave Springs on May 1, registration starting at 9:30 a.m. The State Meeting will be held in Hot Springs June 2-4.

A monetary gift was given to God's Pantry and also Garfield Elementary School from the proceeds of a quilt that was sold which had been made by the members of the club.

Election of officers was held with a decision to continue with the present officers. The meeting was adjourned with members reciting the Extension Homemaker's Creed.

In the afternoon all members met at the home of Elaine Launderville and assembled the project book to go to State of the club's project for this year.
