Donations abound and enhance library

I hope you at noticed the very pretty pots of flowers outside the library. These were donated to the library by one of our patrons along with the large planters and the bird bath. These are such a nice addition to the plantings done by the Lions Club.

In addition to a whole lot more donated books last week, the library received a donation of a very nice wooden file cabinet. We had just had a discussion a couple of weeks ago regarding the need for a file cabinet. Thank you Lewis family for thinking of us.

Participation in the Wednesday morning Story Hour is growing. The children really seem to be enjoying the story time and especially the crafts. I am very pleased that our library has the space now to offer this program and especially thankful that we have Ms. Jackie to make it happen.

The library purchased three picnic tables with benches earlier this summer. They are now being painted barn red and look very nice. Although they were unfinished when we held the Summer Reading Program Party, they certainly were useful.

A number of new children's books are ready for check-out. A number of home school children and their parents make use of our library. It is so nice to see so many non-fiction books being checked out as well as some good fiction books.

Our computer usage seems to increase each week. From what I can gather, users are doing research, completing job and school applications as well as checking email and, of course, social networking.

Speaking of social networking, the library has a Facebook page -- Pea Ridge Community Library. We try to post current happenings, etc. on our page so be sure to visit and like us!

See you at the library!
