Seat contested

GATEWAY -- Two people are seeking a Gateway City Council seat.

Cheryl Ann Tillman, 58, has held the seat for four years.

Ricky Behrends, 46, is running against her.

Tillman, a native of Garfield, graduated from Southwest R5 High School in Seligman, Mo. She is a paraprofessional at Pea Ridge Alternative Learning Education academy. She and her husband, Andrew, have two grown children, Andrew III and Amanda, and two grandchildren, Parker Andrew and Paisley Grace.

Behrends was born in Mississippi but said he has been in northwest most of his life. He graduated from Rogers High School in 1987. He is a forklift driver in the warehouse at Glad Manufacturing.
