Train ride seats open
SELIGMAN, Mo. -- There is still time to make reservations for the Seligman Chamber of Commerce fall train ride from Seligman, Mo., to Van Buren, Ark., is set for Saturday, Oct. 11, and Sunday, Oct. 12. This will be Arts and Craft days in Van Buren.
Travel the beautiful Boston Mountains and shop in old Van Buren. Music in the street.
Tickets for the vintage cars are: $60 for adults, $54 for seniors 65 and older and $35 for children 4-12 years of age and free for children under 4 years of age. See the beautiful Boston Mountains, enjoy the Arts & Craft show, and shop old Van Buren.
All day trip, next train ride Dec. 20 to Rogers, Ark., for the Christmas train ride.

Plants as medicine program set
HOBBS STATE PARK -- Former Arkansas Master Gardener of the Year, Sharon Haley, will present her program "Plants as Medicine: From Granny Woman to Pharmacist" at the Hobbs State Park visitor center AT 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 12.
If you're intrigued by Ozark's history and native plants, you'll enjoy learning about these unselfish women who nurtured the sick and infirmed, tended births and deaths, and enjoyed a special connection with our native vegetation. A variety of antique herbal and pharmaceutical memorabilia will be on display.
The Hobbs State Park visitor center is on Ark. Hwy. 12 just east of the War Eagle Road intersection. The public is invited. There is no cost. This presentation is a con
