History Camp for Kids

Openings are still available for the Shiloh Museum's history camp for kids ages 11 to 14 years, to be held 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. July 7--11. The theme is "1900s Arkansas." Campers will experience a different decade each day, from the 1910s to the 1950s, exploring topics such as wildlife conservation, the Olympics, fishing, old-time radio shows, gardening, baseball, TV shows, and popular dances. Cost for the camp is $70 for Shiloh Museum members and $80 for non-members, and includes lunch, crafts, and a ticket to the July 16 NWA Naturals baseball game.

The Shiloh Museum is located at 118 W. Johnson Ave. in Springdale. For information, call 750-8165 or visit shilohmuseum.org.

Space is limited; preregistration and payment is required. The registration deadline is June 25.

Baptist Church History

A daylong seminar on the history of Regular and Primitive Baptist churches in Northwest Arkansas will be held from 9:45 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 21, at the Shiloh Museum of Ozark History. Sponsored by the Little Flock Primitive Baptist Church, the event will include lectures, old-time singing, and dinner on the ground. "The history of Baptist congregations in Northwest Arkansas is a significant part of our regional heritage," Staten added.
