From Staff Reports

Wanda Roe attended the spring meeting of the Arkansas Humanities Council Friday, April 25, and Saturday, April 26, in Little Rock.

The council reviewed proposals and awarded $76,000 to projects and programs.

The members heard committee reports, approved the budget, reviewed the audit and discussed possible new projects.

They had dinner Friday at the MacArthur Museum of Arkansas Military History. They saw the exhibit they had helped implement of World War II posters. The posters were acquired by Mrs. Helen Leigh who had them restored and exhibited. Mrs. Leigh was a guest at dinner. She has made possible a grant of $500 to schools bringing students to Little Rock to see the exhibit.

Members enjoyed seeing posters by famous artists who contributed their work to the war effort. as well as seeing other interesting items at the museum. Of interest was a picture and list of Medal of Honor recipients from Arkansas.
