Pea Ridge Graphic-Scene

The PRHS 1974 valedictorian was Miss Sherry Barnett, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L.C. Barnett Jr., of Gateway. The salutatorian was Miss Charlotte Phillips, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Phillips of Pea Ridge.

The new High School principal was announced by the school board as Gilbert L. Davis. Davis, his wife and their children were expected to move to Pea Ridge that summer.

The office of U.S. Representative John Paul Hammerschmidt announced the appropriation of grant in the amount of $7,500 to the City of Pea Ridge for the preparation of facilities, plans and studies for a waste water treatment water works construction project.

The following Pea Ridge athletes raised $16.33 for multiple sclerosis: Terry Wilkerson, Jeff Whitmer, John Blunt, Ricky Dye, Jim Gastineau, Greg Wright, Mark Holmes, Dewey Whisenhunt, Steve Keller, Jackie Wright and Murl Brannon.

Bill and Dub Snow planned on opening a furniture store in Pea Ridge that would be called Bill and Dub's Furniture Ranch.

The Pea Ridge High School Band members receiving appreciation awards included Kim Korbelik, Christy Camp, Denise Nickel, Deena Jump, Dani Dryden, Kim Kileman, Sandy Escue, Danny Prophet, Steve Jordan, Danny Parrish, Wade Hayes, Leif Pistole and Micah Looney.

The Volunteer Ambulance Board of Directors unanimously passed a motion that the ambulance service go operational as soon as liability insurance became valid.

The U.S. postal service announced that the Pea Ridge and Garfield post offices would have new buildings by the end of the year.

Barbara Humphrey, 17, daughter of David and Mary Humphrey, won a spot as a majorette at the University of Arkansas.

The Pea Ridge Blackhawk baseball team was the 1994 Northwest Arkansas Regional Champion with a record of 25-5.

The Pea Ridge Area Ministerial Alliance decided to start sponsoring the baccalaureate for Pea Ridge schools. Ken Biley, Razorback basketball player was to be the guest speaker at the event.

Star students for third and fourth grade were Amanda Rininger, Amanda Smith, Chris Earnest, Gregory Rhinehart, Darrell Taylor, B.J. Fletcher, T.J. Rogers, Michael Easterling, Alan Elington and Danny Freeman.

Shawn Woods was announced as the Pea Ridge High School class of 2004's valedictorian and Tyler Martindale was salutatorian.

Aaron Morgan and Dillon Blankenship placed first in the eighth grade product comparison category at the Pea Ridge Middle School science fair Thursday with the paint ball challenge.

Students graduating with high honors and honors included April Davis, Jennifer Hohn, Merry Miller, Katie Bowerman, Kelli Keene, Bo Whited, Chris Allen, Kristin Boedeker, Angela Tanner, Ricky White, Toby Dobbs, Cody Woodward, Duane Fletcher, Valerie German and Pedro Contreras.
