Pea Ridge Middle School and High School band students recently participated at the Region 6 Solo and Ensemble Contest Friday, April 4, at Kirksey Middle School in Rogers. This was the largest group of students who have had attend the contest in seven years at Pea Ridge. Many of the band students performed a solo on their instrument, while others performed in small groups like duets, trios, quartets and quintets. A few of them participated in more than one performance. The high school percussion students formed a large ensemble and competed as well. Each student who participates in one or more of these performances is awarded a score from a judge for their efforts based on the quality of their performance. Students who were given a "I-Superior" rating or "II-Excellent," received medals in recognition for their achievements.
