Dallas Ray Collie

Dallas Ray Collie, 59, of Bentonville, Ark., died March 1, 2014. He was born July 15, 1954, in Cato, Ark., to JB Collie and Elsie Mae Stivers Collie.

He was raised in Arkansas and graduated from the College of the Ozarks. He was a lifetime Gideon and former Arkansas Gideon treasurer. He was currently employed by Bentonville Public Schools as applications development architect. He was formerly employed by Sterling Stores, Dillard's, Walmart and J.B. Hunt in technology.

He formerly served as chairman of deacons at First Baptist Church of Bentonville. He was currently a member of First Baptist Church of Pea Ridge.

He loved gardening, woodworking and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jim Collie; and sister, Shirley Moore.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon Collie of Bentonville, Ark.; previous wife and mother of his children, Sheri Collie of Bella Vista, Ark.; two sons, Daryn Collie of Oklahoma City, Okla., David Collie of Bella Vista, Ark.; one daughter, Karyn Collie of Canton, Ohio; two stepsons, Ryan Fletcher and fiancee, Lynnsey, of Springfield, Mo., Hunter "Scott" Morrow of Lowell, Ark.; one stepdaughter, Ashlyn Morrow of Bentonville, Ark.; six brothers, Marvin Collie (Deanna), Tom Collie, Jerry Collie (Connie), Jack Collie (Donna), Mike Collie, Adam Collie (De), all of North Little Rock, Ark.; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, 2014, at the First Baptist Church in Pea Ridge, Ark.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 5, 2014, at the First Baptist Church in Pea Ridge, with pastors Al Fowler and Tom Collie officiating.

Graveside service and burial will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 6, 2014, at Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery.

Arrangements are by the Bella Vista Funeral Home & Crematory, 2258 Forest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista, Ark.

Margaret Elizabeth Henderson

Margaret Elizabeth Henderson, 88, died Feb. 24, 2014, in her home in Kinta, Okla., while her family sat by her side and Charlie her little dog laid at her feet. She was born May 12, 1925, in Joplin, Mo., to Robert and Virginia Yoast.

She was a long time resident of Pea Ridge, Ark., before moving to Kinta, Okla.

In addition to being a wonderful wife and mother of five children, Mrs. Henderson worked outside the home. She was the first woman to be hired as a USDA Civil Service red meat and poultry inspector. After retirement, she volunteered as a "pink lady" at Mercy Hospital in Rogers, Ark.

As a member of the United Methodist Church of Pea Ridge, she and her husband loved working with the children's classes.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Henderson, and sons, Mac, Raymond and James "Jim."

Survivors include two daughters, Lorraine Cloud of Kinta and Mary Beth Draper and husband Dale of Siloam Springs, Ark.; daughter-in-law, Bobbie Sue Yeager of Springdale, Ark.; 27 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 22 great-great-grandchildren.

The family would thanks Real Care Home Health, Hospice of McAlester and all friends and minister, April Coats from the United Methodist Church of Wilburton.

Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 1, at First United Methodist Church of Pea Ridge.

The committal service was at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Newtonia IOOF Cemetery, Newtonia, Mo.

Pallbearers were Lonnie Draper, Chris Craft, Matthew Runyon, Jarod Runyon, Travis Cloud and Aaron Saindon.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Women's Ministry of the United Methodist Church.

Kenneth Lee Patterson

Kenneth Lee Patterson, 80, of Pea Ridge, died Monday, Feb. 24, at his home. He was born April 21, 1933, in Pea Ridge, to Clark Patterson and Vila Gardener Patterson.

He graduated from Pea Ridge High School in 1951 and was a member of the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.

He married Pat Nutter Sept. 2, 1966.

He was a supervisor at Beech Aircraft in Wichita for 26 years, and was employed by Wal-Mart in loss prevention for 15 years. He loved to garden and gave away most of the produce. He was also a farmer and enjoyed being outdoors working on the farm. He was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Pea Ridge.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Pat Patterson of the home; two daughters, Cathy Spivey of Pea Ridge and Kelly Meeker of Bentonville; one son, Scott Meeker of Bentonville; one brother, R.C. Patterson of Garfield; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren; and two nieces, Debbie Easterling of Rogers, and Jennifer Bowen of Garfield.

Visitation was at 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 27, at First Baptist Church in Pea Ridge.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church, Pea Ridge.

Burial was in Twelve Corners Cemetery.

Jerry Wayne Roland Sr.

Jerry Wayne Roland Sr., 61, of Pea Ridge died Thursday, Feb. 27. He was born Sept. 4, 1952, in El Dorado, Kan., to Melton William and Wanda Lee Guyll Roland.

He was a retired screenprinter from Walmart who enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking and gemstone collecting.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jimmy Roland.

Survivors include his wife, Janice Roland of the home; a son, Jerry W. (Brandi) Roland Jr. of Bentonville; two daughters, Janelle Marie Roland of the home and LaTrisha Rae (Rick) Krogman of Green Forest; a sister, Deborah Kay Wright of Witter; a brother, Melton William (Barbara) Roland Jr. of Washburn, Mo.; four stepdaughters; two stepsons; and 30 grand- and great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 3, in the chapel of Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers.

Memorial donations are suggested to Special Olympics Arkansas, 2115 Main St., North Little Rock, AR 72114.

James M. Smith

James M. Smith, 69, of Pea Ridge, died Friday, Feb. 28, at Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville. He was born Nov. 12, 1944, in Pea Ridge, to John Melvin Smith and Bernice Mae Criner Smith.

He graduated from Pea Ridge High School, and served in the U.S. Army stationed in Germany.

He was employed at RTW in Rogers as a tool and die maker, enjoyed gardening and working outdoors, and watching football and basketball on TV. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Bentonville, and re-dedicated his life to the Lord on Thursday, Feb. 27.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant son.

Survivors include his wife Marianne, who he married on Oct. 7, 1967; two sons, Karl Smith of Pea Ridge and James M. Smith of North Carolina; two brothers, Johnny Smith and wife Penny of Pea Ridge and Gerald Smith and wife Mary of Rogers; two daughters, Janice Reddell and husband Burline of Pea Ridge and Jeannie Smith of Pineville, Mo.; and five grandchildren.

No visitation is scheduled.

Graveside services are 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 5, at Pea Ridge Cemetery with Pastor Dorothy Wall officiating.

Dennis Edward Swinney

Dennis Edward Swinney, 64, died Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014, in Rupert, Idaho. He was born Sept. 17, 1949, in Amarillo, Texas, to William E Swinney and Ermarie Reneau Swinney.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, baseball and a variety of other sports.

He was preceded in death by his father, William E. Swinney; and son, Shane Edward Swinney.

Survivors include his children, Shannon "aka George," Heather "aka Peanut" (Waylon) and Kristy "aka Bill"; grandchildren, Megan, Cori, Dennis, Kaitlyn, Gracee and Graylon; great-grandchildren, Kylie and Kameron; his mother, Ermarie Reneau Bohlen; and sisters, Shirley, Jan and Linda of Arkansas.

The family thanks Dr. Boetcher and the staff at Minidoka Memorial Hospital and Joel Heward with Hansen Mortuary for their outstanding care and service of their father.

No public service will be held at this time.

Tommie Joe Wheeler

Tommie Joe Wheeler, 86, of Garfield, Ark., died Feb. 21, 2014, at Mercy Hospital in Berryville, Ark. He was born Sept. 17, 1927, at Thorney, Ark., to Lee and Cleo McFee Wheeler.

He was a retired fireman from Fullerton, Calif., and worked part-time as a body and fender repairman. He served in the United States Navy, and he was a longtime musician and loved Bob Wills music. He attended the Lost Bridge Community Church, near Garfield, Ark., where he resided for many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Larry Wheeler; one sister; and five brothers.

Survivors include his wife, Iva Wheeler of the home; one son, Bobby Wheeler and wife, Darlene, of Simi Valley, Calif.; one stepdaughter, Margie Kermgard of Laguna Niguel, Calif.; three stepsons, Tim McKinney and wife, Grace, of Berryville, Ark., Phillip Morton and wife, Carman, of Phillips Ranch, Calif., and Gary Morton and wife, Sandi, of Victorville, Calif.; two sisters, Mary Lou Faulkner of Austintown, Ohio, and Rose Mary Faulkner of Springfield, Mo.; one brother, Floyd "John" Wheeler of Wesley, Ark.; 12 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Services were at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 1, in the chapel of Brashears Funeral Home with Pastor Alan Tyson officiating.

Interment was in the Mount Olive Cemetery, near Elkins, under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home, www.brashearsfuneralhome.net, of Huntsville, Ark.

Pallbearers were Isaac McKinney, Gary Morton, Bobby Wheeler, Matthew Wheeler, Michael Wheeler and Nathan Wheeler.

The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to a charity of choice.
