Car Show

The eighth annual Freedom Fest car show will be 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 28, at Pea Ridge City Park. There is no charge to attend.

The show will feature classic cars, hot rods and motorcycles. Anyone wanting to enter a vehicle may show up at 9 a.m. There are eight classes and the top three vehicles in each class will be awarded a prize.

There will be best of show -- people's choice -- award that will get $50.There is a $10 charge to enter a vehicle or $15 for the same person showing two vehicles.

Donations accepted

Bright Futures Pea Ridge will accept school supplies during Freedom Fest.

There will be a Bright Futures tent set up on June 29 during Freedom Fest to collect school supplies to be given away to Pea Ridge school children during the community-wide "Back to School Bash" scheduled for Aug. 2.

Some of the suggested supplies needed include: pencils, paper, crayons and glue sticks.

Touch a Truck

The second annual Touch a Truck event will be 1-4 p.m. Sunday, June 29, on the grounds between the Pea Ridge Fire Station and Pea Ridge Police Department off Slack Street. The event, sponsored by the Pea Ridge Optimist Club and Pea Ridge Police Department is free of charge.

There will be fire trucks, an ambulance, police cars, Benton County Sheriff's Office vehicles, the Mercy ambulance helicopter, Street Department vehicles, a school bus and much more for children to see and touch. The Optimist Club will provide free Popsicles.

The Pea Ridge Police Department will offer fingerprinting of children to give to parents to keep in case of emergencies.

Freedom Fest

The eighth annual Freedom Fest is scheduled for 6 p.m. Sunday, June 29, on the grounds at First Assembly of God Church on Weston Street.

Beginning at 6 p.m. dinner will be served, free of charge. Dinner will include hot dogs, chicken sandwiches and a chicken wrap with chips and a drink.

There will be music provided, organized by David Austin of The Ridge Community Church.

Parking will be allowed at the Middle School and High School north of the grounds and shuttles will take people to and from their cars to the event.
