Little 'Hawks camp set

The 2014 Blackhawk football camp is open to all children in second through sixth grade. The camp, run by the Pea Ridge football staff including the certified trainer, includes current and former Blackhawk football players as well as special guests, according to athletic director Tony Travis.

Camp meets from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, July 22, through Thursday, July 24, at the Blackhawk indoor facility.

The camp will include fundamental drills in all areas of the game of football including offense, defense, special teams, weight-lifting, conditioning, agility and speed-work. Other building blocks of the Blackhawk football program like character, discipline, team work and Blackhawk pride will be stressed. Gatorade will be sold at break times and at the end of the day for $1. All campers receive a T-shirt and participation awards.

Campers will meet for roll call each day at 4:50 p.m. at the indoor facility.

Registrations may be dropped off at any Pea Ridge School office of the Blackhawk indoor facility coaches' office. Sign-ups will also be available on the first day of camp.

The cost is $35. Checks may be made payable to Pea Ridge Football.
