A Pea Ridge man was in jail Tuesday morning after a 21-year-old woman reported he sexually assaulted her.

Joshua Edward Courtney, 31, was booked into the Benton County Jail at 1:40 a.m. Tuesday for felony rape. He was being held with no bond as of Tuesday.

The woman told police that she and several other people were at her house when she went inside to get away from Courtney who followed her into her bedroom and forced himself upon her, according to the probable cause affidavit. She claimed she told him to stop three times and pushed him off of her. When other people came into the house, he left the room and then walked home.

Police were dispatched to the residence at 12:40 a.m.

Police arrested Courtney after interviewing him at his residence.
