Pea Ridge Graphic-Scene

A Pea Ridge businessman and civic leader, Fred McKinney, was selected to appear in the 1974 edition of Who's Who in Arkansas, a compilation of biographical information on outstanding citizens of the state. McKinney was one of 5,000 Arkansans selected for the honor.

At the Garfield City Council meeting led by Mayor Wimpy Jones, councilman Don Hall suggested that with the growth of the town, a planning group should be formed. The motion passed unanimously; the mayor appointed Don Hall, Buddy Seamster and Merle Welmer to the committee and told them to find two other area residents to be on the board.
