The Pea Ridge Western Art Exhibition in Tulsa, Okla., came to a close this week with winners of the most popular artwork named in this, the seventh exhibition put on by local elementary artists. The month long exhibit was hosted by the Gilcrease Museum of American Art in northwest Tulsa.

Museum curator Deborah Burke lauded the body of work as "extraordinary," saying that it was "great fun putting up the exhibit, getting to inspect each piece one at a time." Burke also issued an invitation for the school to put up an exhibition for an eighth time in 2015.

The Gilcrease puts up an exhibition of school aged artists' work each month, choosing 12 schools each year to do so. Pea Ridge is the only out of state school to participate.

Museum official Dick Clark said this year was the third time he was fortunate enough to be involved in the hanging of the art in June, stating that "I am always just amazed at the level of talent on display by students of Pea Ridge schools. There were outstanding pieces in every grade level."
