Lions Club landscaped library

Here it is July already. This year is just rushing by!

We appreciate the Lion's Club for providing the display for the month of June. You may drop off any eyeglasses at the library and we will see that they get to a Lion's Club member.

The landscaping provided by the Lion's Club is growing and looks so nice in front of the building. We so appreciate all their hard work.

Sign-up for the Summer Reading Program is Monday, July 7. The program ends July 24. Contest is open to children who have completed kindergarten through fifth grade. The child who reads the most books in their grade level wins a prize, the child who reads the most books overall wins a prize and all participants will receive a treat bag. Only books checked out of the Pea Ridge Community Library are eligible for this contest. Completed forms must be turned in to the library by 6 p.m. Thursday, July 24. A party will be held shortly after the end of the contest. Details will be announced later. This program is a fun way to keep the children reading during summer vacation and helps them retain their reading skills.

This past week brought donations -- money, books, DVDs. All of these donations are so appreciated. DVDs have proven to be a big hit with parents and children.

We accept donations of used printer ink cartridges. These are turned in for credit at an area office supply store.

Janet Evanovich's "Top Secret Twenty-One" should arrive at the library this week. Several other new releases should arrive shortly.

We are looking forward to having the Water Department as our new neighbor. All the growth happening in Pea Ridge now is very exciting. Change can be difficult but often times change must occur to sustain what we have. Pea Ridge is a great little town with some of the best people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. I am very pleased that the library is playing a part in the town's growth.

See you at the library!
