Seven young ladies vie for Colors Day Queen

Seven seniors were named Colors Day maids for 2014 basketball season. One will be crowned as the Colors Day queen during Colors Day festivities Friday, Jan. 31, in Blackhawk gym. Colors Day maids for 2014 are:

Casi Caton

Miss Casi Caton, 18, the daughter of Lafe and Maria Caton, has lived in Pea Ridge for three years. She plans to attend Harding University. She is involved in National Honor Society, volleyball, basketball and track. She enjoys attending Southside Church of Christ in Rogers, spending time with family, camping, playing board games, watching science-fiction with her dad and taking road trips with her cousins.

The best thing about being a senior for her is not having to make up snow days, having first choice at classes and being top-dog. Her favorite social media website is pinterest because it is full of useful ideas and drama is not included. She will be escorted by Gage Kelso.

Savannah Cypert

Miss Savannah Cypert, 18, the daughter of Amanda Foster, has lived in Pea Ridge for six years. She plans to go to college, play basketball and major in criminal justice. She is a member of the basketball team. She enjoys playing basketball, being outdoors, watching Criminal Minds, camping and hiking.

The best thing about being a senior for her is graduating from school and being able to go to college. Her favorite social media website is instagram. She will be escorted by Tyler Hamilton.

Heather Kremer

Miss Heather Kremer, 18, the daughter of Tracy Kremer-Roach and the late Al "Rex" Kremer, has lived in Pea Ridge for 10 years. She plans to go to Northwest Arkansas Community College on a mascot scholarship for her associates degree, then transfer to the University of Arkansas to major in advertising and public communications. She is vice-president of Pea Ridge Future Farmers Association, a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes, on the softball team and has been the mascot for three years. She enjoys backroading, four-wheeling, hanging out with friends and going to the creek.

The best thing about being a senior for her is getting to cut in the lunch line and share words of wisdom to freshman. Her favorite social media website is pinterest. She will be escorted by Wyatt Holtgrewe.

Kami Parmenter

Miss Kami Parmenter, 18, the daughter of Christy Brown and Brian Parmenter, has lived in Pea Ridge for 18 years. She plans to attend John Brown University and double major in math and engineering. She is the Student Council president, National Honor Society secretary and a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes. She enjoys reading and shopping.

The best thing about senior year for her is leading people. Her favorite social media website is instagram because she enjoys looking at everyone's pictures. She will be escorted by Ty Connor.

Carley Sanders

Miss Carley Sanders, 19, the daughter of Mardy and Fred Fuller, has lived in Pea Ridge for 13 years. She plans to go to college and major in criminal justice. She is a member of the basketball team. She enjoys hanging out with friends.

The best thing about senior year for her is ruling the school. Her favorite social media site is instagram because she likes looking at everyone's pictures. She will be escorted by Logan Rose.

Jerika Schooley

Miss Jerika Schooley, 18, the daughter of Michael and Bobbie Schooley, has lived in Pea Ridge for 18 years. She plans to hopefully play volleyball or softball and get her teaching degree and become a coach. She is a member of the volleyball and softball teams. She enjoys hanging with friends, playing volleyball and shopping.

The best thing about senior year for her is knowing it's her last year and being a leader. Her favorite social media is instagram because she loves taking pictures and seeing other's pictures. She will be escorted by Hunter Sill.

Michaela Tuszynski

Miss Michaela Tuszynski, 17, the daughter of Gary and Kelly Tuszynski. She has lived in Pea Ridge for 17 years. She plans to attend NWACC to get her associates degree then transfer to the University of Arkansas. She is a member of the cross country team, the basketball team and National Honor Society. She enjoys playing basketball, football, running, watching Bones and reading.

The best thing about senior year for her is not making up the snow days, getting out early, being exempt from things, graduating and not having any freshman in her classes. Her favorite social media website is twitter "just because." She will be escorted by Lloyd Kalberloh.
