Chili manana

Recipe by Sandra Wright, Garfield, in the 2008 Cook's Library of Treasures published by the Pea Ridge Community Library

1 lb. ground beef

1 can cream of celery soup

1 can chopped green chilies

1 c. canned milk

1 small onion

dash of garlic

salt and pepper

1 tsp. chili powder

grated cheese

6 corn tortillas

Brown meat; add soup, green chilies, milk, onion, garlic, salt and pepper. Heat until well mixed. Place tortilla on top of mixture and cover. Let stand on low for 15 minutes. In casserole dish, place two corn tortillas. On top of tortillas, add a layer of hamburger mixture and then grated cheese. Repeat until ending with grated cheese. Bake at 350º for 25 minutes, or until cheese is melted.
