Tuesday, Dec. 31

10:15 a.m. Police were contacted by Lowell Police that two residents of Pea Ridge were suspects in trash dumping in Lowell. Police contacted the suspects and asked them to contact Lowell Police.

11:47 a.m. A resident of Weston Street contacted police that his children were home alone and had texted him that someone is in the backyard of the residence taking things. Police contacted the boys who reported someone was taking wood from his father's trailer.

4 p.m. Police were dispatched to O'Reilly Auto Parts for a verbal disturbance no longer in progress. An employee told police about a disgruntled client.

5 p.m. Police were asked to assist Benton County Sheriff's deputies to locate a resident on Frost Street. Police were unable to locate the man.

11:38 p.m. Police were notified of possible semi-automatic gun fire in the area.

Wednesday, Jan. 1

7:20 p.m. Police were notified that a dog at a residence on Hutchinson Street was left without food and had no water. Police were unable to contact residents of the house and determined that, because of the extremely low temperatures forecast, the dog would be in jeopardy. The dog was taken to the Pea Ridge Vet Clinic.

10:30 p.m. Police were notified that a Benton County Sheriff's deputy was southbound on Ark. Hwy. 94 at Sugar Creek when he hit a deer. Police said it was snowing at the time of the accident.

Thursday, Jan. 2

11:46 a.m. A resident of Henry Little Circle reported a large Great Dane dog running loose and said it approached him, began barking and acting aggressive. The dog's owner, Steven J. Gooch, 56, Pea Ridge, was found and cited for dog at large and no proof of rabies vaccination.

2:28 p.m. A two-vehicle accident was reported on Ark. Hwy. 94 (N. Curtis Ave.) at White Oak Station involving vehicles driven by Terry L. Thurman, 35, Pea Ridge, and Stephanie S. Allcorn, 23, Bentonville. Thurman reported he was pulling out of the parking lot of White Oak Station and hit the southbound vehicle driven by Allcorn.

Friday, Jan. 3

4:17 p.m. A resident of North Davis Street reported having a dog in her back yard that does not belong to her. Police picked up the dog and took it to the Pea Ridge Veterinary Clinic.

11:06 p.m. Police received a report of a possible sexual assault against a 15-year-old girl. Interviews are scheduled at Children's Advocacy Center and the incident is under investigation.

Sunday, Jan. 5

4:15 a.m. Police were dispatched to a residence on Hickman Drive for a burglary in progress. The resident claimed two people had climbed through a window to access the bedroom several times that morning. Police found no footprints in the snow, no evidence of the window being opened and no one in the home except the reporting party, who admitted to taking sleeping pills. Police cited Shane Price, 37, Pea Ridge, for filing a false police report.

11:30 a.m. A resident of an apartment at Kings Lane reported a possible theft. Police were able to locate the suspect who admitted to taking the woman's antibiotic because she thought it was hydrocodone and she could sell it. Police recovered the medication and returned it to its rightful owner. The victim refused to press charges.
