LINCOLN -- Pea Ridge was in prime position several times but couldn't overtake Lincoln and lost, 44-40, Friday.
"We just couldn't get over that hump," Trent Lloyd, Pea Ridge coach said.
Blake Sheppard's trey matched Lincoln's Ossy Escareno's 3-point play to start the game but Lincoln went on a 12-4 run to open up a 15-7 lead. Zach Davis' 3-pointer drew Pea Ridge within 1, at 26-25. This was the first of three times the Blackhawks would get within a point during the second half but they could not find a way to get over the top.
Davis nailed another trey and was fouled in the act of shooting a 3-pointer with a chance to tie the game at the line. The middle free throw caromed out and Pea Ridge trailed, 31-30.
Pea Ridge 11 11 8 10 -- 40
Lincoln 17 7 7 13 -- 44
