'Hawks defeat Gentry Pioneers 51-34

The Jr. High Blackhawks picked up a win at home with a victory over the Gentry Pioneers Monday night, Jan. 27.

When the game started, it looked to be a nail-biter with the first quarter score being 15 to 10 in favor of the 'Hawks, but in the second quarter Pea Ridge tightened up its defense and held Gentry to only 3 points. Pea Ridge went into the half leading 30 to 13.

The Blackhawks carried over their dominance into the second half where they were in control the entire time and won the game 51-34. The Blackhawks remain undefeated in conference play with an 8-0 record and 15-2 overall.

Westin Church led the team in scoring with 17. Britton Caudill had 13 while Joey Hall chipped in 9. Cole Wright finished with 5, Logan Johnson hit a 3 and Garret King and Jakota Sainsbury each hit a basket. The Jr. High Blackhawks defeated Prairie Grove Thursday, Jan. 30, in Prairie Grove.
