The Pea Ridge Intermediate Select Choir performed Christmas music in the center of the Pinnacle shopping district Saturday afternoon as a part of a "flash mob" performance.

Led and begun by choir director April Smith, the event started out when Smith began playing a flute melody close to the fountain. As Smith played on, students of the choir who were mixed in with the shopping crowd, began assembling together as they started to sing holiday songs they had practiced for the occasion.

Amidst the noise of traffic and the flow of Christmas shoppers traveling in all directions, the singers from Pea Ridge soon attracted a sizeable audience of people who appreciated the young performers' efforts.

The group performed a short program before dispersing to their families on a warm weekend afternoon. The select choir is made up of students in third through fifth grades who tried out earlier in the year.
