Blackhawks beat Greenwood

"We beat solid 6A Greenwood," head coach Trent Loyd said. "We shot the ball extremely well and made plays down teh stretch."

Competing in the Citizens Bank Tournament last week in Van Buren was a good experience for the Pea Ridge Blackhawks, coach Loyd asserts. "As a whole, we got a lot better from being in the Citizens Bank Tournament."

Pea Ridge 73/Greenwood 57

Pea Ridge won the first game against Greenwood played Tuesday. Players scoring included Zach Davis, 24; Blake Sheppard, 16; Joey Hall, 15; and Britton Caudill, 9.

Pea Ridge 40/Bentonville 76

"We did not come out with the intensity we needed to play with against top team in the state, Bentonville," Loyd said of Thursday's game. Scoring for the Blackhawks were Davis, 17, and Hall, 12.

Pea Ridge 50/Charleston 53

"We came out and played extremely well against 3A state runner up Charleston," Loyd said. "We defended and played hard, just didn't make the shots down the stretch."

Blackhawks scoring Saturday evening were Davis 18; Caudill, 8; and Trundle, 7.
