Blackhawks trounce 6A Bulldogs

The 4A Blackhawks (2-1) outscored the 6A Bulldogs (0-1) 39-21 in the second half to get the victory. Pea Ridge drained 12 3-pointers, including five from Zach Davis, in gunning down Greenwood.

"That is kind of our style -- shoot the 3-pointer and hope they go in," Trent Loyd, head coach of the Blackhawks, said. "We've got some shooters. Give Greenwood credit because they shot the ball well in the first half."

The Blackhawks will face the Bentonville-Morrilton winner in a 5:30 p.m. semi-final game Thursday. The Bulldogs will meet the Bentonville-Morrilton loser in a 5:30 p.m. consolation game Wednesday.

Pea Ridge trailed at halftime 36-34 but outscored Greenwood 15-10 in the third period to take the lead for good at 49-46. The Blackhawks then put it away in the fourth quarter, building as much as a 23-point lead.

Davis scored a game-high 24 to pace Pea Ridge while Blake Sheppard poured in 16 and Joey Hall added 15. Sheppard and Hall each made three 3-point shots as well.

Matt Ludwig paced Greenwood with 16.
