Monday, Aug. 18

3:52 p.m. Police were dispatched to a one-vehicle accident on North Davis Street involving a vehicle driven by Kerstin Hobbs, 16, Garfield. Hobbs vehicle lost control due to a mechanical failure and struck a gas meter.

7:40 p.m. A police officer was flagged down by a person who wanted to remain anonymous and who told him there was a suspicious person walking around residences on North Curtis Avenue. The subject was found on Smith Street talking to residents and attempting to sell them something. He said he was selling organic cleaning degreaser door to door. His boss was contacted and admitted he did not have a city permit. He was advised to get one before having salesmen in town.

9:07 p.m. Police responded to an alarm call at Pea Ridge Intermediate School; the building was secure.

6:31 p.m. A resident of St. Clair Street reported a reckless driver in the area. The reporting party said a juvenile male had been driving a white Pathfinder down his street at a high rate of speed. He said he has told the young man to slow down and that this time, as he was leaving to take his child somewhere, the vehicle sped by and he followed it to the driver's residence. He said he stopped at the residence to talk to the young man who said his parents were not at home, and then the boy's mother came to the door. He said the conversation "was not friendly" and he called police. Police went to the residence to speak to the young man and his mother and warned them about the speeding.

Tuesday, Aug. 19

6:21 a.m. At about 5:45 a.m., police were told about a disturbance that occurred in Bentonville last night during which a 20-year-old girl was "severely beaten by her boyfriend" and was treated at the hospital emergency room and was now at his home in Bentonville. At 6:14 a.m. police were dispatched to the Green Street residence for a disturbance. The man was "beating on the doors" of the residence. He left before police arrived.

10:14 a.m. Police were dispatched to a residence on Rains Street for an attempted burglary. The resident said someone attempted to break into her house the previous night.

4:55 p.m. Police were dispatched to contact Bella Vista Police Department who reported finding a wrecked vehicle containing a deceased body. The vehicle was registered to a resident of Pea Ridge.

8 p.m. Police were dispatched to call a resident on Patton Road about a suspicious circumstance involving her son's vehicle missing. Apparently stolen was a maroon 2002 Ford F250 with camouflage wheel well trim. A BOLO (be on the lookout for) was issued for the vehicle.

9:22 p.m. Police received a theft report from a resident of Rogers that his prescription pills had been stolen by someone in Pea Ridge. He said his doctor wouldn't refill the prescription without a police report. Police questioned the suspect who said he hadn't seen the reporting party.

10:19 p.m. Police were dispatched to Neighborhood Market in reference to a shoplifting. The caller saw a man walk out of the store with a case of beer and had seen two men together, but one carrying the beer. Police received descriptions of the males and the vehicle being used. The descriptions of the two men involved matched the descriptions of the two men with whom police had just dealt in a separate matter. Police identified the two suspects from video surveillance cameras. While on patrol, police saw the suspects' vehicle in a driveway at a residence on It'll Do Road but were unable to get anyone to answer the door of the residence. Later, the suspect, Cody Olguin, 25, Rogers, was arrested and cited for shoplifting.

Wednesday, Aug. 20

11:55 a.m. Police were dispatched to a residence on Coler Drive in regards to a criminal mischief in which two vehicle tires had been cut. The victim had received a text message from a former boy friend threatening to "slash her tires." Police interviewed the suspect and he claimed to not have cut the tires.

1:18 p.m. A resident of Hayden Road reported a theft involving checks missing from his home and one of those checks being cashed for $1,500 at Arvest Sugar Creek Bank in Bella Vista.

Thursday, Aug. 21

5:10 p.m. Police were dispatched to the area of Easterling Road for a report of a reckless driver. Police found the suspects at a residence outside the city limits and while waiting for Benton County Sheriff's deputies to arrive, learned that one of the people in the truck was wanted on a Bentonville warrant. Lacy Daniels, 29, Pineville, Mo., was transported to Bentonville and transferred to a Bentonville Police officer.

Friday, Aug. 22

5:16 a.m. Police took an accident report involving a vehicle driven by Vicki L. Beem, 52, Pineville, Mo., who reported she was southbound on Weston Street when a deer ran out in front of her. She said her vehicle struck the deer and the deer ran off.

5:10 p.m. Police were dispatched to the parking lot on the southeast corner of Lee Town Road and Slack Street for an animal welfare concern. The caller reported that a dog was locked in a truck and that the outside temperature was 93 degrees. Police contacted the owner of the truck who told police the air conditioning was running and that the dog was fine. The man refused to give his name. No charges were filed.

6:10 p.m. Police were dispatched to Pea Ridge High School for a gym motion alarm. An unsecured door was found. No one was found inside and there were no signs of forced entry.

Saturday, Aug. 23

11:26 p.m. Police were dispatched to a one-vehicle traffic accident on South Arkansas Highway 94 near Cardin Road involving a vehicle driven by Andrea E. McChristian, 28, Bentonville, who told police she was southbound when she swerved to avoid two deer in the road. She was transported to Northwest Medical Center by Pea Ridge Ambulance.

Sunday, Aug. 24

3 p.m. Police were dispatched to a residence on Wood Street for a welfare concern involving a small child outside a residence unsupervised. The caller said the child ran across North Davis Street. As a result of the investigation, it was learned that both 3-year-old male and a 7-year-old male were in the care of a 15-year-old male who thought the younger child was in his bedroom. A report was filed with the Arkansas Child Abuse Hotline for investigation of inadequate supervision of minor children.

5:54 p.m. Police were dispatched to a residence on George Miller Drive (Givens Subdivision) for a breaking or entering a vehicle report. The resident stated that sometime between 10:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Sunday someone had entered his truck and taken a large bucket of Longhorn long cut straight snuff. Some ammunition was moved, but not taken.

Monday, Aug. 25

6:49 a.m. Police were dispatched to a one-vehicle accident on South Curtis Avenue involving a vehicle driven by Timothy D. Morinini, 47, Pea Ridge, who was treated at the scene by Pea Ridge Ambulance personnel and not transported. The driver told police he fell asleep at the wheel after working all night.
