There were 59 Intermediate/Middle School girls on hand this summer for the first ever Volley 'Hawk summer camp. Hosted by the Pea Ridge varsity high school athletes and coaching staff, the clinic was directed by junior athlete Ashton Mondy.

"I'd like to thank the Pea Ridge community, the high school girls, and the campers themselves for helping put on this great clinic," Mondy said.

"The camp was very successful. We saw a lot of talent and many potential volleyball athletes."

The clinic was held at the Pea Ridge Middle School gym, which began July 22 and lasted through July 24. The camp was intended to introduce local athletes to the sport of volleyball. The young Blackhawks learned serving techniques as well as techniques in bumping and setting.

In only their fourth year of competition, the varsity Blackhawks won the 4A-1 conference championship last season and made the state quarter finals.
