Spring is a good time to be in the library

I hope you had a Happy Easter and got to spend time with family and friends. Wasn't the weekend wonderful? It was very nice to see the sunshine and warm temperatures. I was able to get a little yard work done. I hope to see some flowers growing soon.

Prep work is being done in the flower beds at the library. I am excited that we will soon some beautiful landscaping completed.

Last Thursday afternoon, we had the drawing for the two Easter baskets. Nichole Decker won the girl basket and Jordan Price was the winner of the boy basket. Congratulations to these two very cute kids! The best part of my job is working with the children who come in.

Book donations are always appreciated but please check the books carefully to make sure they have not developed mold. Unfortunately I had to throw some in the trash this weekend due to black mold. Breaks my heart to trash a book but there is really no way to remove it from paper.

I stopped by the Farmers' Market in Pea Ridge last Thursday. How fortunate we are to have farmers, crafters, gardeners and bakers in our area who work hard to supply us with their wares. It is still to early for fresh veggies but I can highly recommend the baked goods! Maybe the library will set up a table with books for sale one Thursday and/or Sunday afternoon.

Representatives from the library will be at the Parent Fair at the Primary School from 5:30-7 p.m. Thursday, May 1, to meet the children and parents and answer questions about our library and what we have to offer.

See you at the library!
