Origins of ‘Easter’

Origins of 'Easter'

Scripture tells us that the entire world will be deceived. Next week, practically all Christian denominations will be worshiping and celebrating the holiday called Easter. Practically every child in America will wake up to find a colorful basket of fake grass in a nice store-bought basket which is to represent the Easter celebration. Many of these baskets will have, among other things, eggs and chocolate bunny rabbits.

First of all, the name "Easter" comes from the pagan goddess named "Eastre." She was the great "mother" goddess of the Saxon people in northern Europe. The prime word here is mother. She was known as the goddess of fertility. her name was derived from the ancient word for spring: "eastre." In various other countries, she had the names of Astoreth, Astarte and Ishtar, just to name a few of her many names. Her in America, she is called "Easter." As I already stated, she is a fertility goddess which was worshiped in the springtime so that she would bring about the new babies. This is where the eggs come in to the equation. Eggs represent new life. Then, the rabbits come into the equation because the rabbits reproduce like rabbits do. They can have up to 12 - 16 babies per litter and they can have up to 12 litters per year.

Many Christians will get up next week and go out and have Easter sun rise service and they will all turn their faces towards the East and watch the sun rise. Do you see the connection between the "East" and Easter? Ezekiel, chapter eight, is where we find where the Most High tells Ezekiel to look at all of the great and greater abominations that the leaders of the assembly are doing. Verse 14 says that the women were weeping for Tammuz. Tammuz was loved by Ishtar (Easter), the supposed Queen of Heaven. Tammuz supposedly died and was mourned for and came back to life again.Scripture tells us that worshiping and weeping for a god that died and was resurrected again is an even greater abomination. Verse 16 tells us that Ezekiel was shone a greater abomination than that. It says that Ezekiel saw 25 men with their backs to the temple and they were worshiping the sun towards the East.

Scripture says the people are stiff necked. This means that most of you who have just read this will read it and just shrug it off your shoulders and you will still continue to celebrate the false Pagan holiday of Easter (Ishtar) as you have always done before.

Revelation 18:4 says that we are to come out of her, my people. That means we are to come out of the false teachings of Babylon. We can not continue to go along with the false teachings that we have inherited as children.Boyd B. McNielPea Ridge, Ark.
