Benton County clean-up set

The county-wide clean-up will be from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 26. There are three locations at the County Road Departments including 1700 S. Wimpy Jones Road in Garfield and 1206 SW 14th St., in Bentonville.

Household hazardous waste including automotive products, batteries, paints, aerosols, and light bulbs will only be accepted in Bentonville. Document shredding will only be accepted at the Bentonville location. Habitat for Humanity will collect items in good condition for reuse only at the Bentonville location.

No household trash, construction or demolition waste or yard waste will be accepted.

Benton County clean-up volunteers needed

With spring rapidly approaching, Benton County Environmental needs your help to keep Arkansas Beautiful. Volunteers can take part in Arkansas' largest organized annual cleanup, beautification and community improvement program from 8 a.m. -- noon Saturday, April 26.

All registered volunteers will receive a complimentary T-shirt, entry for door prizes and a BBQ lunch.

Glade Historical Society to meet

GARFIELD -- The next Glade Community Historical Society meeting is at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 27. The speaker, Monte Harris, a fifth-generation Benton County resident and Adult Programs Educator at the Rogers Historical Museum, will present: "Memories of Glade, Ark." The meeting will be at the Lost Bridge Village Community Room, 12477 Lodge Drive, Garfield.

Gateway craft fair scheduled

GATEWAY -- The Gateway spring craft fair will be May 2-4 at the Gateway City Park. Openings are available for booths and vendors. $25 for booths and $50 for food vendors with electrical outlet.

Train Ride scheduled

SELIGMAN, Mo. -- Seligman Spring Train Ride to Van Buren will be Saturday, May 17, and Sunday, May 18. It will be Arts and Craft days in Van Buren. This is an all day trip. The train will travel through the Boston Mountains.

Ticket prices are: $80 for adults, $72 for seniors over 65 years of age and $35 for children for first class, lower dome, caboose; $80 for upper dome; and $60 for adult, $54 for seniors, $35 for children for vintage cars.
