Merle Dean Everett Charles

Merle Dean Everett Charles, 87, of Pea Ridge, died Wednesday, Sept. 4,2013, at Mercy Med ical Center in Rogers.

He was born Jan.

20, 1926, at GoodlandKan., to Cecil Everett Charles and Esther Irene Steele Charles

He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Marines serving in Okinawa.

He grew up on a farm in eastern Colorado and was a cattle rancher. He served as sheriff for Sieber, Colo., for a time before moving to Arkansas. He was a long haul trucker and enjoyed leather tool working, had a small engine repair business, restored antique farm equipment, and woodwork ing. He was a member of Catalyst Church in Bentonville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Peggy Charles in 2002; one daughter, Regina Lynn Price; two brothers,

Duane Charles and Delmar

Charles; and two sisters,

Josephine Shaw and Irene

Travis.

Survivors include one

daughter, Loral Reeves

of Corte Murieta, Calif.;

three grandchildren, Chari

Wheeler, Charles Reeves

and Yancey Price; one

sister, Joyce Saffer and hus

band Glen of Flagler, Colo.;

nine great-grandchildren;

and fi ve great-great-grand

children.

Visitation was 1-3 p.m.

David James Hamilton David James Hamilton,

55 of Gar eld Ark. diedMay 12, 2013, in Golfi to, Costa Rica. He was born June 1, 1957, in Wichita,Kan., to Roscoe and Edna Hamilton. He was named after David, in the Bible.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Mike Hamilton; and his parents, Roscoe and Edna Hamilton.

Survivors include a daughter, Ivy Hamilton of Rogers, Ark.; two sisters, Sandra Janine and Patty Joyce; his brother, Ronald Hamilton of Kansas.

David was a deep thinker, a great listener and he gave his heart completely to those he loved.

He loved being on Beaver Lake and enjoyed driving his classic Land Cruiser with the top down, listening to Alison Krauss and Sarah McLachlan.

The “love of his life” was his daughter, Ivy Hamilton. David’s favorite song was “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.” He loved singing it at the top of his lungs and acting like he was playing the ukulele.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 15, at the boat dock of Bill and Julie Neighbors, off of Arkansas Highway 127 on Hyden Road in Garfi eld, Ark.

David Wayne Musteen

David Wayne Musteen, 60, of Pea Ridge, died Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2013, atMedical Hospital in Kansas City, Mo., surrounded by his family and.

He was born Dec. 18, 1952, in Rogers to Jack Raymond Musteen and Pat Mae Mitchell Musteen.

A lifelong resident of Pea Ridge, Mr. Musteen served in the Arkansas Army National Guard for seven years and was an avid gun collector, outdoor sportsman and friend to all.

He was preceded in death by his father and his sister, Margie Musteen Ford.

Survivors include his mother; a son, Nathaniel Baxter Musteen, and wife Anita of Greenwood, Mo.;

daughter Mitzi Renae Mus teen Horn and husband Zach of Nixa, Mo.; their mother, Sheila Snow Musteen of Bella Vista; a sister, Debbie Musteen Phillipsand husband David of Pea Ridge and their daughters, Leisa Still and Stephanie Stamps; three grandchildren, William Baxter, Samuel David and Emma Grace of Greenwood, Mo.; his companion, Trina Bonacker of Pea Ridge; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Visitation was noon to 2 p.m. Saturday before the service at First Baptist Church.

Service was 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, at First Baptist Church in Pea Ridge with pastors Pete Nugent and Al Fowler oft ciating.

Burial was in Pea Ridge Cemetery.

Arrangements were by Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge.

Dorothy Lillian Ward

Dorothy Lillian Ward, 87, of Rogers died Monday, Sept. 2, 2013, at Willard Walker Hospice Home in Fayetteville. She was born March 31, 1926, in Garfi eld, to Zannie Sam Poe and Lillian Minerva Ellington Poe.

She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Ward in 2007; her;

one daughter Doris Marie Ward; a brother, Norvall Poe and two sisters, Carlene Kelly and Harriet Hite.

Survivors include a son, Charles Ward and wife Dene of Lake Butler, Fl.; a daughter, Linda Davis and husband Michael of Fayetteville; a brother, Zannie Poe and wife Florence of Garfield; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

No visitation was planned.

Service was 11 a.m.. Friday, Sept. 6, at Downtown Church of Christ in Rogers, with viewing to follow.

Burial was in Liberty Cemetery in Garfi eld.

Arrangements were by Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge.
