Flight, fight, lead to woman’s arrest

On Sunday afternoon, police received a report of a truck being stolen from an apartment on East Pickens Road. The truck owner told police he had allowed a woman to stay at his apartment because she told him she had no place to stay. He told police that when he awoke, the woman, her bleongings and his truck were missing.

Police were notifi ed at 3:58 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 20. After issuing an alert for the truck, police were contacted again by the truck owner who said the woman had returned to his apartment with the truck.

When police arrived, they saw the woman, Tracy Milne-Jones, 35, in the truck talking to the truck owner. Police said she pushed past him to run from police, fought police and tried to run away. According to the report, Milne-Jones dropped an open pocketknife when running away. One Pea Ridge police officer sustained minor injuries during the scuffle.

During the foot pursuit, police threatened to use a Taser on Milne-Jones, who was apprehended just before the Taser was deployed. She was arrested on warrants out of Benton County for felony failure to appear, obstructing governmental operations, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and a Rogers warrant for failure to appear, as well as thirddegree battery, fl eeing and resisting arrest.

The jail booking sheet showed Milne-Jones address as Rogers early Monday morning and later as Pea Ridge, whereas the police report showed her address as Pea Ridge. Her driver’s license shows her address as Hasty, Ark.

She was transported to Benton County Jail, where she was being held in lieu of a $20,000 bond.

The owner of the truck said he did not want to fi le charges since the truck was returned.
