There is so much to be thankful for

While you are reading this, I will be taking time o◊from the library to spend a few days with my children and grandchildren. Thanksgiving is one of our favorite holidays - we cook and eat and cook and eat and then do it again! I hope you all have a Happy Thanksgiving.

I am writing this on the afternoon of Thursday, Nov. 21, to meet the early newspaper deadline and I am almost jumping with joy. Earlier this afternoon a lady called to inquire about donating some books and then drove over with 54 large print books! That donation certainly gives us something to be thankful for. I can hardly wait to start processing them for placement on the shelves.

ance at the library at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 10.

I spoke with one the elves this week and it seems that Santa had such a good time at our library last year, he wants to visit again. Santa and/or his elf will read a story to the children and maybe have time for a brief visit with the children. We are so happy he was able to schedule a visit with us.

We have been tracking the number of people who use the library each day and even we were surprised at the number.

Readers, gamers, researchers, tutors - we are happy to have each of you.

Remember computer users, the library does not provide headphones or ear buds. If you need them, you must provide your own.

The library hours will be expanding in the next few weeks. We will be open on Mondays and Tuesdays from 1-8 p.m. Our Wednesday and Thursday hours will be 10 a.m. to noon and 1 - 6 p.m. We are looking forward to being able to serve our patrons better.

As I have mentioned before, we have a wonderful lady who provides the candy we make available at the library. You may take a piece of candy as you leave the library - you may not unwrap or eat the candy in the library. Signs are posted on the front door but we continue to fi nd candy wrappers around the computer stations andother areas in the library.

We hate to remove the candy but that may be our only option.

This year I am thankful for my family - as always;

and I am thankful for the beautiful new library and the members of the Library Board of Directors and all their help. And I am especially thankful for our patrons and their support!

Happy Thanksgiving!
