FFA attends national convention

On the morning of Oct. 29, Mr. Perry Mason and a group of lucky FFA members hopped on a bus bound for Kentucky.

“Are we there yet?” might have been said a few times on this 13-hour bus ride headed to where most of these students had never been. Membersand chaperons stayed in a Comfort Inn, in Indiana, just on the outskirts of Louisville, Ky., the location of this year’s 86th annual National FFA Convention.

Blue jackets painted the city as FFA members from all over America toured all that Louisville had to o◊er. Members from the Pea Ridge FFA chapter got to experiencea number of things from a trip to Churchill Downs to meet the jockeys and horses, to the Louisville Slugger Museum, as well as a unique boat ride aboard the “Belle of Louisville” on the Ohio River.

Of course students also spent many hours at the convention, getting the chance to meet fellow FFA members from all over, as well as catchingglimpses of a few celebrities found at this year’s National Convention.

“There was always something to be looking at! With over 57,000 members dressed just like you, and the only di◊erence is the city and state on the back of your jacket, it’s so easy to get overwhelmed” said Sadie Robertson, Pea Ridge FFA reporter.
