Ozark Hill Hikers

The Ozark Hill Hikers Walking Club will host a two-part group walk Nov. 22 and 23 in North Little Rock and Little Rock. Everyone interested in walking with the club is welcome.

The North Little Rock event will take place Nov. 22 with registration from 2 until 2:30 p.m. at Curran Hall Visitor’s Center, 615 E. Capitol Ave. Sign-up for the Little Rock walk will be from 9 to 9:30 a.m. Nov. 23 at Curran Hall Visitor’s Center. This walk includes the state Capitol building, the Governor’s Mansion and Clinton Presidential Library.

Ladies’ Day Out

Create a unique painting at the last Ladies’ Day Out event for 2013. Participants will meet at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, to carpool from the parking lot at Village Bible Evangelical Free Church in Bella Vista. Lunch will be at Jason’s Deli in Fayetteville, followed by a two-hour painting party at Painting with a Twist.The fee is $35 per person.

Embroiderers’ Guild

of America

The Bella Vista chapter will have its monthly meeting at 9 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, at St. Theodore’s Episcopal Church in Bella Vista. The group will be hosting Marion Scourlar, a national EGA teacher. She will also lead a workshop.

Bunco Club

Members and guests of the Bella Vista Ladies Bunco Club will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20, in the main building at Concordia Retirement Center. A cost of $9.50 covers the game and lunch.

Granny’s Quilts

of Love

Granny’s Quilts of Love met Oct. 15 at Mount Vernon Presbyterian Church in Pea Ridge. Eighteen members and two guests — Mary Margaret Clark and Deanna Fletcher — were present.

The total number of quilts made to date is 16,373. The group has also made 4,072 pillows and 1,650 hats.

Members cut more than 200 quilt kits at the workday meeting.

A Christmas brunch is planned for 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, at Bella Vista Lutheran Church. The Friendly Stitchers and Granny’s of Bella Vista will furnish everything. Granny’s is recruiting women to join to sew quilts for the children atArkansas Children’s Hospital. Members furnish all the materials to make the quilts, which are made from one piece of material size 45 inches by 56 inches and featuring a cartoon character or Disney print.

Book Club

Beta Sigma Phi

The Laureate Alpha Gamma chapter will meet at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13, at Katie Holloway’s home. Ricki Landowski will be the co-hostess and, as president, will conduct the meeting.

A fi nal accounting of the expenses for the Fall Luncheon will be determined. This information will be presented to the Executive Coordinating Committee Nov. 15.

Sister-to-Sister meetings were held Nov. 1 at River Grille in Bentonville and Nov. 6 at Duffer’s Cafe in Bella Vista. Sister-to-Sister groups are made up of members picked randomly.This activity affords the women the opportunity to meet socially and enjoy time to visit together.

Linda Dahlquist planned this month’s social event, which will take place Nov. 20 at Crabby’s. Participants should arrive at 11 a.m. for lunch.

The December social is set for Saturday, Dec. 14, at The Plaza. Husbands or guests are welcome to attend this dinner party. A cocktail hour will be followed by a catered dinner.

Next month’s meeting will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, at the home of Barbara Downs. Secret Sisters will exchange Christmas gifts. Everyone is asked to bring food items to be distributed to a food pantry by the Service Committee.


The Iota Alpha chapter will hold a holiday swap meet for members only from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Nov. 19 at First Western Bank, 575 Memorial Drive, in Bella Vista. Out Group

This month’s Dining Out event will be held a week earlier than normal due to the Thanksgiving holiday. The dinner party is scheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21, at Napoli’s Italian Restaurant, located at 4408 W.Walnut St. in Rogers. Social time will begin at 5 p.m.

Bella Vista Sunrise

Rotary Club

Guest speaker Jack Maxwell will update the Sunrise Rotary Club on the Belize water project Wednesday, Nov. 20. The local Rotary club has participated in this program to help provide clean drinking water for the schools and homes in Belize. Maxwell will demonstrate the filter and explain how it works.

Bella Vista Lions Club

A casual dinner meeting will begin at 5:45 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, in the main building at Concordia Retirement Center, 1 Concordia Drive, in Bella Vista. The guest speaker will be Tom Throne, managing editor of The Weekly Vista.
