A partnership between the school district’s athletics department and a promotions company brings new products and vigor to fundraising, according to athletics director Tony Travis.
“We’ve partnered with Five Star Promotions in Fayetteville - they are going to be making our big wall calendars, posters, pocket calendars, refrigerator magnets and tickets for all our sports,” Travis said. The calendar, in previous years, has been one for all sports. The new deal results in calendars for fall sports, winter sports, and spring sports. The deal also provides websites for the various teams to use to publicize themselves and well as the opportunity for anyone interested to receive text updates regarding games, events and other news.
He said he’s received calls from people asking if a call received about doing fund raising for Pea Ridge athletics is legitimate.
“They are saying they are selling ads for Pea Ridge athletics, asking to donate. We have no knowledge of that - so it seems like some sort of scam.
“Our only fundraising company is Five Star Promotions - if the caller is not them, or if a person isn’t sure, call the school district and ask,” Travis said. The administration office number is 451-8181.
Area businesses will have the opportunity to support the teams through the various products, including a coupon book that cost’s nothing to be in other than honoring the discount offered on the coupon.
Travis noted that Five Star’s contacts outside Pea Ridge should benefit the district by broadening the base of potential advertisers.
