Pea Ridge Schools have art on exhibit in Tulsa

The internationally renowned Gilcrease Museum of American Art has extended an invitation to Pea Ridge Primary and Intermediate Schools to put on an exhibition of artworks.

This marks the fifth time that Pea Ridge will have the honor and distinction of showcasing artwork done by youth artists in kindergarten through fifth grade.

The Gilcrease selects only 12 schools a year to put on exhibitions in their museum which is located in northwest Tulsa.

Most recently, Pea Ridge had the singular honor of having a two-month long exhibition in 2012. That display opened in late May of last year, running through the end of July.

Pea Ridge artists currently have two groupings of art works that are either on display or will be shortly.

There are 36 works of art on display at the Arts Center of the Ozarks. That exhibit is scheduled to close March 28.

Twenty works of art have been submitted to the Little Rock Arts Festival, some of which will be put up on display in the downtown area. That display will open in mid-April.

Plans are also being made for an elementary art exhibition to be put on at the Frisco Station Mall in Rogers sometime later this spring. The Tulsa art show will extend from mid-May through mid-June.
