Art students’ work on display at Celebrate Art

A number of Pea Ridge elementary art students have had their art accepted into the 14th annual “Celebrate Art!” exhibition and competition at the Arts Center of the Ozarks in Springdale.

Thirty-six students in grades kindergarten through fifth grade are included in this annual event limited to public and private schools in Benton and Washington counties. The art on display was taken from the classwork completed at Pea Ridge Primary and Intermediate under the direction of John McGee, art teacher.

An open house and reception is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, March 9, to honor the students who have been included in this year’s exposition. The director, Eve Smith, is scheduled to speak at 2 p.m.

Awards will also be revealed for each grade level, with awards going to first, second and third places in each grade as well as an honorable mention. Best overall awards will also be granted in kindergarten through eighth-grade division with special awards given for “Director’s Choice” and “Most Popular.”

Primary students included in this particular exhibition are: Ava Clark, Kailynda Hackler, Lleyton Coberly, Jade Main, Emory Bowlin and Emily Garcia, kindergarten; Croix Lecause, Luke Baker, Troy Ferguson, Nic Hiatt, Adam Rogers and Seth Foster, first grade; Jadyn Spivey, Kade King, Brooke Jedlicka, Cooper David, Owen Reynolds and Caleb Johnson, second grade.

Intermediate students included were: Braidon Mc-Carley, Vanessa Ollivier, Joe Adams and Gabby Fletcher, third grade; - Avery Escajada, Kilea Barajas, Alevia Reyna, Heather Cato, Rebecca Trammel and AbbyRyals, fourth grade; Philip Brown, Jamison Toms, Keera Todd, Mazon Harris, Adam Trammel and Morgan McTier, fifth grade.

A bus has been made available to transport the students but they must be signed on to utilize the convenience by Friday, March 8.

Those wishing to attend the reception on their own may travel to the Arts Center of the Ozarks located on Main Street, 2 blocks south of Emma Street in downtown Springdale. The display has also been uploaded for viewing on the school internet website at www.artsonia.com/pearidge2.
